Dr. Patel is trained in the use of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), IMRT with RapidArc, Stereotatic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), conformal 3-D radiation therapy, high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR), breast brachytherapy (Contura, MammoSite and SAVI) permanent prostate brachytherapy (seed implants) and Tomotherapy. He has a particular interest in genitourinary malignancies, gynecologic malignancies, breast cancer, sarcoma, palliative care and brachtherapy. When asked why he chose Radiation Oncology, he states, "within the field of medicine, Radiation Oncology was the perfect fit for me because it allows us to make meaningful differences in our patients' survival and quality of life. The combination of patient interaction and continuity of care was really the combination for me".
