He has been in private practice with Radiation Oncology Consultants since 1998. Dr. Sweeney has expertise in brain tumors, sarcomas, and prostate cancers. He is experienced in the use of conformal 3-D therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery using Gamma Knife and high does rate brachytherapy. He is also knowledgeable in breast, lung, head & neck, gastrointestinal and gynecologic malignancies. Dr. Sweeney is an active member in numerous professional organizations. Dr. Sweeney spends his leisure time with his wife and four children. He is an avid reader and Notre Dame sports fan. When asked why he chose Radiation Oncology he states, "I find a great deal of fulfillment in the care on oncology patients and their families.
