M. Sameer Shafi, M.D. has built a stellar reputation for his dedication to the health and well-being of the patients in the communities in and around the Joliet area. He has dedicated his medical career to working with patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, and provides patients with comprehensive evaluations and compassionate direct patient care. Dr. Shafi incorporates a unique blend of experience, compassion and skill. Upon completing his medical education in 1991 overseas, Dr.Shafi did a residency in Internal Medicine at Englewood Hospital, an Affiliate of the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine where he was appointed Chief Resident. In 1994, he completed his specialty training at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Nephrology. In 2000, Dr. Shafi finished a 1-year Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Louisville.
