Douglas S. Wiseman, MD, is a fellowship-trained endocrine and parathyroid surgeon who specializes in treating tumors in the neck, pancreas, digestive tract and adrenal glands. Dr. Wiseman treats you like family whether he is performing biopsy on swollen lymph nodes, operating for neuroendocrine tumors (carcinoid, paraganglioma, insulinoma, pheochromocytoma) or personalizing care for the most serious types of thyroid cancer (i.e., papillary thyroid carcinoma, follicular thyroid carcinoma, Hürthle cell carcinoma, medullary thyroid carcinoma). He brings the same compassion to patients suffering from parathyroid diseases (hyperparathyroidism) and endocrine disorders such as Graves’ disease, Cushing’s Syndrome, Conn’s Syndrome and adrenocortical carcinoma.
AMITA Health is committed to advancing medicine through clinical research. Clinical research trials are a way to test the safety and effectiveness of new ideas and procedures in an ethical, controlled environment. Many of the current medical treatments available today were developed in a clinical research trial.
